It's a family thing.
Ringwood Stud a family run farm, has been in the Leonard family since 1860. Peter took over the the family business from his father the Late Michael Leonard; a renowned producer and judge of Irish Horses.
Peter's sister Ann O' Grady now produces from Ballingowan Equestrian Centre and his brother Terrence from Ballynoe Castle Farm. Together they have produced many outstanding horses for all equestrian disciplines.
Peter Leonard, the stud owner, was previously an International Selecter and Chairman of International Affairs for a 4 year period. He is a former director of the FEI and the SJAI and is currently a HSI stallion inspector. In his youth he rode for Iris Kellet and Max Hauri.
